Its 5 on Sunday morning and while everybody is still asleep, I woke up though it difficult to resist my bed. Took my shower and get ready for yet another cycling trip to 'pengerang' by boat.
Earlier yesterday, I've confirm the departure due at 'Changi Jetty' 8 in the morning. It's considered late booking for a group of 10 people but I had not worry as the boatman is my uncle of my mom side.
As slowly one by one turned up at Changi Jetty Food Center, I decided to have a very light breakfast just to fill my empty stomach. Later on, I went to 7-eleven to buy a 1.5litre bottle of 100plus and fill it at my 'camelbak'. Very refreshing...! Which I drank some of it. Haha..!
Eight it is and all 10 of us board on my uncle's boat for 'pengerang'. On the boat, Feldaus started to snap some pictures of us. The 1hr and 45mins boat ride may be tiring for some but you got to get used to it. After getting our passport scanned and stamped, we embarked on a journey most exhilirating ever was for me. Been a while since we did a distance cycling.
Around noon, we reached at a junction which I've been waiting for, 'off-road'. My favorite! But too bad it hasn't been raining there so the soil is not muddy. It would be a different story if it rains though. Haha..!
1pm and we reached Sungai Rengit a small-town or as the locals called 'pekan'. I would go to nowhere else but 'marrybrown' a fast-food joint similar to 'kfc'. I would normally order 2 fish burgers and a cool iced-milo but I decided to have a chicken rice instead. For the drinks, I had the one I brought along in my 'camelbak'. Haha...!
After almost an hour of rest, we then continue our second part of the journey.
For about 10mins or so we reached to our 1st obstacle, a long climb upslope. Then come to a downslope which could easily hit 45km/h. After that another upslope, then of course downslope.
At the junction of Sebana Cove a resort, we rest for 5mins to snap some pictures.
One last obstacle, a steep 25degrees up the slope. After that, a downhill of 60km/h. Fantastico..!
It took us another 30mins before we could reach a 'surau' or a mosque for prayers. There we rest for about 30mins and carry on with the last part of the journey, head back to 'pengerang' jetty. We got to rush though cause the last boat back to Singapore is 5pm.
Honestly, though I'm tired, I absolutely enjoyed the whole thing..!
